I’m Not Down with the Sickness =(

So today I woke up this morning to find out that Sara is ill.  Obviously my first reaction was “that’s nice, its 9AM, I work at 1PM” followed by a prompt rolling over.  When it was clued in that she was for real my butt kicking boyfriend skills definitely set in.  She probably has AIDS, Monkey Pox, Baseball Fever, or SARS, but her mom diagnosed her with Influenza A (influ-a  as like to call it for short).  Obviously this virus got an A for ass kicking in school.  So I prepped a bath for her because she wanted to relax and relieve these out of no where aches and pains (apparently a precursor to what’s to come.) Which afterwards I resumed my peaceful slumber that was interrupted kindly by her beautiful voice asking me to turn on the heat lamp once or twice. I then preformed my morning version of massage therapy (still entrenched in bed using one or two hands depending on the angle to rub various areas of her aching body.)

After that I made her some lunch because I didn’t get out of bed early enough for breakfast. I know I suck, but she didn’t seem to mind, she wasn’t terribly hungry understandably. I then looked in my kitchen to find food and honestly found nothing. Worried that I would fail to feed my baby I went to the classic peanut butter sandwich. Just like anything else she eats there came a special order with this sandwich.  I believe the direct quote was “Make sure you spread the peanut butter all over each slice of the bread, covering every centimeter with the peanut butter.  Then cut the sandwich in half.” I can proudly say I won chef of the day with that one!   By then I needed to go to work so I left her with my TV and kissed her goodbye (I’m doomed if its meant to be anyway.)

About an hour or two into work I got a call from her asking me to pick up some medicine from the store on my break. Glady I obliged and even got her some Campbell’s chicken with stars soup and cooked that for her.  She’s was happy as she could be in her condition. The lunch hour quickly passed on and I was headed back to work. With the medicine she was able to get herself to do some daily tasks, but however she definitely isn’t faking it to get out of school.  Anyway after work I grocery shopped and brought the $70 in groceries in one load (three flights of stairs and parking in the far lot, muscles baby, muscles!) in less than 30 minutes.  So now we’re stocked on simple food, bananas, and facial tissues!

Knowing that I could find myself in this same position scares me cause I need to work and stuff, but hopefully my immune system is tough enough to beat influ-a into a failing grade!  Wish me luck!  Also wish Sara the best, she’s not feeling well and she would appreciate well feelings! Go human race!  Boo viruses or virii?  Here’s to hoping to not actually becoming sick like the wind… hahahaha
